Away but for good reason.

It's been too long since I posted a proper blog and for good reason, I'm not the type of person to vent my opinions, concerns and annoyances on social media and having just gone through a combination of disappointment, let down and upset I felt I needed a little time away from the blog so I didn't let my emotions get the better of me and end up writing a blog that quite frankly would have been totally unprofessional, all I'll say on the matter is that I felt very let down and wished people would be more open and honest as this is how I live my own life.

But the new page has been turned and here I am writing once again for all you lovely supporters. Regardless of what happens I continue to keep busy and create everyday and the last few months have not been any different, I have recently been working with fine art dealer Clive Ashmore and also teamed up with AC fine art galleries to create a number of limited edition fine art prints that I am super excited about.

The decision was made to put in two of my toy soldier paintings into print and these were "Black Gold" and "Make Peace Not War 2"

And of course I've been working away on a whole bunch of other originals and commissioned pieces
The first is a piece that was something a little different for me but I wanted to convey my feeling of how I feel women should be treated, I feel that all to often men think that treating there women mean will keep them keen but I'm so far away from this opinion that I wanted to create a piece surrounding this very subject....I personally believe that a woman should be treated with respect and love and showered with compliments every day, building her up not putting her down and so I created this piece and as I am using a lot of toys in these new series of painting I decided to use little girls favourite the Barbie/Cindy doll.

"Shower Her with Compliments"
24" x 32"
Oil on box canvas

SOLD

I've also been Commissioned quite a bit recently and created three commissions for clients all different but all equally as enjoyable to paint.

The first is of a Bertie Bassett box, a classic favourite sweet of many.

"Bassetts All Sorts"
22" x 16"
Oil on Canvas

SOLD

The Second was the entirely the clients idea as he had seen my star wars Lego commission and liked that idea but came to the table with his own twist, he wanted the characters stood on top of a floating galaxy bar and have the piece titled "On a Galaxy far far away"

"On a Galaxy Far Far away"
20" x 16"
Oil on Canvas

SOLD

and the third was a ladies favourite chocolate bar....the small but mighty Freddo and I was quite happy to paint this as it brought back a lot of my own child hood memories of going into the local paper shop and paying just 10p for this little chocolate frog

"Freddo"
30" x 18"
Oil on Panel

SOLD

And of course aside from commissions I've also created a few new original pieces, after being inspired by the Star Wars Galaxy commission I wanted to come up with something myself and decided to add a few more space related sweets in there and this is what I came up with

"Choc Wars"
18" x 30"
Oil on wooden Panel

SOLD

And of course I added to my toy soldier series with two new pieces one of which went straight into print with AC Fine art

Liverpool FC and Bailey Charities

September has been a crazily busy month for me not only do i need to get more gallery work done but also have a few commissions to complete. this has also had to be balanced with two charity events.

The first of the charity events was a commissioned Painting by Liverpool FC this was suggested nearly 6 months ago and alot of planning and preparation has been needed to make this happen.

I was surprised when i found out that the organiser of the charity event was a guy who works for Liverpool FC called Chris Morgan, a name i knew i wouldn't forget.

And so discussions started as to what to paint, i personally wanted to paint something with more detail and something that would challenge me artistically but Chris wanted the clubs iconic Liverbird painted as he felt this would be simple but very affective for the fans of the team.

I painted the Liverbird in a dark Indian red and built around shades of black, dark reds, yellows and whites to create a glowing affect around the bird also giving enough space for the signatures.

Once painted i needed a frame and i decided to approach the gallery/framers who frame my commissioned works, and kindly they offered to donate the frame for the piece which was a very kind gesture as a frame of this nature and size would cost around £150 so a massive thank you to http://www.theoriginalartshop.net/

I then had to store the painting awaiting the go ahead by Chris when all the team are available and finally after months of discussions Tuesday 18th September was decided as the date for signing

I arrived at the Melwood training ground at 7:30 am met Chris who then set me up in the teams dining room and all the players were informed that i would be there.

The first to sign the painting was the teams manager Brendan Rogers who was a lovely chap and very complimentary about my work. Then as the morning went on all the players came flooding in to chat and sign my piece.

Below are a select few images of the day.

Goal Keeper  - Pepe Reina

Midfielder  - Joe Cole
Defender - Jamie Carragher

ALL money raised from this one off signed Liverpool collectors item will go to the Christies

For those of you who don't know a VERY close family friend is suffering from terminal cancer and hasn't been given very long, I have vowed to try and raise as much money as i can for the organisations who have looked after her and so all the money from this piece once auctioned will be donated to the Christie's cancer hospital.

Love you Aunty Jayne x

I was also approached about three months ago by Eastenders Actor Adam Woodyatt who asked if i would be willing to donate a painting for the Believe Ball a charity event to raise money for this incredibly brave boy called Bailey Sarwa who has suffered with cancer since he was just 4 years old!

Of course i wanted to help out where i could so i have worked night and day to complete a painting in half the time that i usually would to finish it ready for the auction of the ball on the 29th of this month at the Luton Hoo hotel.

This will be auctioned alongside some other AMAZING items including donations from Gary Barlow, Elton John, and Joe Calzaghe

And here is the completed donated Painting

And here's me with the finished framed painting  - a massive thank you to the guys at Regent framing in Leamington Spa for donating and fitting this lovely frame.

Lets hope that both charity events make alot of money for both these great causes!

Here is the first of the smaller pieces I'll be doing for the Gallery show. This is only 18" x 18" and considerably smaller than my usual paintings, I've enjoyed working at this size but looking forward to working large again. I've wanted to do the Bassett Allsorts for a while and thought they would be perfect to start off the smaller painting's I'll be doing along side the larger ones for the show at the end of the year.
